There's more than a few things I love about summer. My gardens are exploding with colour, keeping things bright and cheerful.
It is impossible to say what I love the most.
There are so many great producers of beautiful plants! Thanks to Proven Winners, Endless Summer, Knockout, First Editions and Fernlea for example, we are planting more and more plants that keep going and going giving a seemingly endless show of beautiful blooms. They make our lives easier and our gardens even more magnificent usually with the bonus of better disease resistance and not quite as needy.
Having a balance of woody shrubs, perennials, annuals and evergreens always gives us something to admire. Keeping our wildlife happy helps the environment and gives us even more to admire.
I am loving the dancing monarchs and hummingbirds that visit my gardens. They travel from the butterfly bushes to the roses to the hydrangeas and touch down on the many perennials exploring and doing their thing.
The colour assortment of plants available has grown substantially as well. It's amazing! A garden can be custom tailored to your favourite shades making your garden a reflection of you.
Don't be afraid to try something different. You don't have to have the same thing as your neighbours.
