You'd never know it but yes, she's 75! Looks so good on you Mom!
Many people know my mom but for those who don't, meet Kathy.
Kathy is well known in the landscape industry and for her support with the Rotary club. She was at the helm of a great company for over 50 years. She had a love of hard work and a true love of helping people. She has finally stopped working in the industry just a short time ago. Finally.
These days she can be found helping a neighbour with a gardening question or offering a compliment on a beautiful garden.
Now is her time to slow down and stop to smell the flowers. She's earned it.
I am so proud to be her daughter. She has taught me so much. I was very lucky to have worked with mom and dad while I worked on our client's properties... from the early days of working on and running crews, making things beautiful with my own hands, to helping grow our business through design and sales and marketing plans. I miss our morning meetings in the bathroom while she were getting ready. Loved that.
In every way, I loved turning run down, boring or overgrown properties into homes that would make our customers smile and be happy. That's still what I truly love. I just want to make people happy.
That desire to deliver happiness to others comes from her. I saw what happened when she was able to help someone and I wanted that too. I may have gone a bit over the top now on my quest to please people but that's ok.
